Thank you for taking your time to get to know about us. Steve Hatfield, the owner of Specialized Pool and Spas Inc. has been in the Portland Pool industry since 1987. Steve started with Steve’s Pool Service ( sole proprietorship) in 1987 where he not only worked his own business but worked with other local pool companies to help assist them in their customer service needs. We still maintain that practice today–over 20 years later!

In the early 1990s Steve decided to upgrade his career in the pool industry and take advantage of a school known sponsored by NSPI (National Spa & Pool Institute).
Steve believes that “no matter how much you think you know there is always more to learn”. So he proceeded to move forward and become a NSPI technician one.
In 1992 Steve wanted to take his drive for the industry to a whole new level where he advanced further in the industry and took lead above several other local companies and individuals by becoming NSPI Tech 2. Then moved forward to become Certified Pool Tech. NSPI then switched to ASPA(Association of Pool and Spa Professionals) www.apsp.org where Steve is currently believed to be the only Certified Service Professional in the State of Oregon.
For a time Steve worked with onetime booming local company Geiger Pools as a partner business. Geiger Pools placed several referrals with Steve on a monthly basis. It was September of 2005 when Steve decided he needed to expand his company to and became Specialized Pool and Spas LLC. Specialized Pool and Spas LLC was in existence until Sept of 2007 when it was apparent that yet another change was needed That is how Specialized Pool and Spas Inc was born. So here we are today a local company in the industry since 1987 from a sole Proprietorship to a INC.
